UPDATED: Ga. Governor Digging Deeper Into Test Cheating Concerns.
This article has implications for other states as well. We already know that many others have experienced cheating scandals. I believe one of the reasons this is happening (and it’s not profound) is because of the weight based on the results of these exams in ranking schools, how they qualify for funding, etc.
As educators, we should be doing a much better job of evaluating ourselves, and that evaluation should include a myriad of different tools. Isn’t that how we expect teachers to grade students in the classroom? How about applying it at a higher level?
